Cancellation & Refund Policy

Last Updated: July 27, 2026

This Cancellation & Refund Policy outlines the terms and conditions regarding order cancellations and monetary refunds for services purchased on the Will & Beyond platform. By processing a payment on this platform, you explicitly agree to the terms listed below.

1. Nature of Digital & Customized Services

Will & Beyond provides customized legal-technology facilitation and document compilation services based entirely on user-inputted data. Due to the personalized nature of estate planning documents, all sales are final once service processing has initiated on our backend infrastructure. This finality is subject to the limited exceptions expressly permitted under Sections 2 and 3 below.

2. When Refunds are NOT Eligible (Change of Mind)

  • Post-Data Submission: No refunds or cancellations will be issued if a client changes their mind, decides they no longer require a Will, or wishes to cancel the order after they have submitted their asset details and confirmed the profile for drafting.
  • Exhausted Deadlines or Revisions: No refunds shall be granted if a user fails to submit revision requests within the mandatory 2-day timeline, or if they exhaust their maximum allocation of 2 free revision sessions.
  • Incorrect User Input: No refunds or liability claims will be entertained if a finalized Will contains structural defects due to wrong, fraudulent, or inaccurate data entered by the user.

3. Conditional Refund Eligibility

In compliance with applicable consumer protection and e-commerce rules in India, refunds will be evaluated and processed exclusively under the following strict scenarios:

  • Technical Payment Errors / Duplicate Billing: A system network glitch or a gateway loop via Razorpay results in a double deduction or a duplicate charge for a single transaction. In such events, the duplicate amount will be refunded in full.
  • Total Failure of Service Delivery: The platform fails to deliver the initial digital draft Will in PDF format within the explicitly committed turnaround time due to reasons entirely within the control of the platform's infrastructure.
  • 1-Hour Pre-Submission Cancellation Window: A user may cancel an order and request a refund within 1 (one) hour of successful payment, provided the assigned Empanelled Legal Professional has not yet commenced drafting and the user's data profile has not been marked "submitted for drafting" on the backend dashboard. Refunds approved under this window are subject to deduction of actual payment gateway processing fees, as set out in Section 4.
  • Note: Save for the limited 1-hour pre-submission cancellation window set out above, payment constitutes immediate submission for drafting, and no other cancellation window applies once a transaction is successfully completed.

4. Processing Mechanism & Timelines

  • Gateway Deductions: In the event a refund is approved under Section 3, the refund will be credited back to the original bank account, credit/debit card, or UPI profile used during checkout.
  • Timeline: Approved refunds are initiated immediately on our dashboard and will reflect in the user's account within 7 to 10 working days, subject to standard Razorpay and banking settlement cycles.
  • Gateway Fees: For any cancellation requested under the 1-hour pre-submission rule, the platform reserves the right to deduct actual payment gateway processing fees (typically 2%) before remitting the balance back to the user.

5. Grievance Redressal for Refund Disputes

Any dispute regarding a refund decision may be escalated to our Grievance Officer within 7 (seven) days of the platform's decision. The Grievance Officer shall acknowledge the complaint within 48 hours and provide a reasoned resolution within 15 (fifteen) days, in line with the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020. Contact details of the Grievance Officer are as published in our Privacy Policy.
